Studio Art Week 5/15-5/19

This week is the last full week to work on the elements of art cube project. On Thursday there will be a quiz on color.  MONDAY : Work on cube- final sides. TUESDAY : Work on cube-final sides. WEDNESDAY : Work on cube, study for color quiz . THURSDAY : Color quiz . Work on cube. FRIDAY : Last day to work on cube.

Studio Art Week 5/8-5/12

Today we will be talking about the final project. Students will form groups and brainstorm for each side of their cube. Each side will demonstrate their understanding of the elements of art as well as the media and techniques learned throughout the year. MONDAY: Intro to final project!! TUESDAY: Start rough draft of each side WEDNESDAY: Intro to cube template, continue work on sides THURSDAY: Work day- Start final sides, work on constructing cube FRIDAY: Work day, Final due date for Pop Art without losing points.

POP ART! Week May 1st-5th

Studio ART week of May 1st-5th. This week we are finishing up Pop Art. Projects are due on Friday the 5th. MONDAY: Pop Art, Gluing demo TUESDAY: Rubric and finishing WEDNESDAY: Half-day and Pop Art THURSDAY: Pop Art and Marbleized Paper for student's who are finished FRIDAY: Pop Art Due today!!! Studio Art: Week April 24-28

This week is all about color theory and Pop Art. After reading, writing, and watching a video about Andy Warhol, students picked a subject that was meaningful. Using their knowledge of color theory, students choose different media to color each differently. MONDAY: Work on Pop Art TUESDAY: Critique on Aboriginal Art WEDNESDAY: Work on Pop Art THURSDAY: Work on Pop Art FRIDAY: Pop Art- Hand back Self-portraits (great for Mother's Day/ Aunt's Day/ Grandma's etc...)

Studio Art April 17-21st

Welcome back, I hope everyone had a nice long weekend! Self-portraits were due on Thursday, anyone who is still working needs to come in on their own time to finish. NO class time will be used to finish the project. With the 5 extra days, the final due date before losing credit is this Friday the 21st.  MONDAY: Starting rough draft ideas for POP ART inspired paintings. TUESDAY: Late start- We will be writing our reflections on the Andy Warhol essays  WEDNESDAY: Pop Art rough draft and final drafts THURSDAY: Color Schemes review and worksheet FRIDAY: All handouts are due, Color Practice and Color Intensity, as well as Color Schemes. LAST DAY TO HAND IN SELF-PORTRAITS WITHOUT LOSING CREDIT!!!

Studio Art 1 Weekly outline 4/10-4/13

Welcome back to our NORMAL routine. Please remember the cell phone policy is back in effect.  **** After the second bell rings, phones go in backpacks or the plastic bins. Pockets do NOT count.   * 1st time phone is out- warning   * 2nd time- phone goes in chart on wall for the REST of the school day   * 3rd time- phone goes to admin, and I e-mail your parents/guardians   MONDAY: All students will receive handouts for the Andy Warhol Pop-Art Color Theory project. If students are finished with their value Self-portrait AND have completed the rubric and turned it in, they will start on the "Color Terminology" sheet. Self-Portraits are DUE on THURSDAY the 13th. TUESDAY: Continue self-portraits. Students who are finished should work on the "Color Theory Practice" sheet. WEDNESDAY: Continue self-portraits.
